Bio

J.D. Rose has always been interested in the arts, but she began writing fiction during her breaks while teaching middle school math and science in Florida. Her early life was marked by upheaval familiar to military families everywhere, as she moved around the United States, constantly meeting new friends, and leaving the familiar behind. In the mid-1980s, her parents settled in a family home in Miami Beach where she was allowed to take in a never-ending stream of stray cats who hated to see her go when she was accepted to the University of Florida in the ‘90s. With a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, she later became a teacher when she realized that degree wasn’t as useful as she thought it might be. In the early 2000s, her Behçet's Disease progressed beyond a point where traditional work was tenable, so she moved to the northwest with her spouse to be near her extended family. After reading everything she could get her hands on and watching everything on Netflix, she turned once again to writing to fill her time while bed bound. J.D. Rose now resides with her spouse and a black cat named Maggie Mae in a small college town.
